Why am I a Doona Bae fan?
Yes, why? There are many many reasons-her beauty, charm, talent, free spirit...but most of it all, I admire her for her courage to test herself to become a better actor, her determination to give it all for her performance.
I remember from somewhere- it could have been an old article or a TV program-where Doona was compared to a swan. What an apt comparison, right? She is as graceful and beautiful as a swan; just look at her pose for the camera, just look at her move! But the actual reason that she was compared to a swan in that article (or in that tv program) was that like a swan which is propelling itself furiously under the water, Doona always pushes herself hard to perform the best she can. And I just love this in Doona. She looks perfect and her acting is amazing for each role she plays, and she makes everything so effortless; but in fact she does put in a lot of sweat and blood to make things seem effortless. I love it that she doesn't show how much it cost her to make it effortless. She does not complain and she does not brag. It also shows her not just using up the talent she was born with but working hard to make the most out of her talent and more.
Yes, there are many other reasons why I am Doona Bae's huge fan, but the fact this is a brave actor who is not afraid of the hard tasks she sets herself is probably the most important reason for me. |
